Elizondo Elementary is a 3 STAR school. With our experienced staff members and high expectations, we are dedicated to providing every child with the best education opportunity possible and are working toward being rated a 4 or 5 star school. .
- Title I School – Our Title Status allows us to provide additional programs and services to our community that we could not provide without Federal and State support.
- SFA Reading Program – The Success for All (SFA) Program provides differentiated reading instruction for students based on their own individual abilities. Students rotate each morning to a classroom in the school based on their assessed independent reading level.
- Everyday Math – Our school’s math program is Everyday Math. This structured program provides students with a daily lesson and practice activities to enrich their understanding of our Nevada Academic Content Standards.
- Cooperative Learning Strategies – We believe at Elizondo that the learning that students do from each other can make a profound difference in their understanding of many concepts. Cooperative Learning Strategies are a required component of each of our core subject areas.
Our school is named after Raul P. Elizondo, a Las Vegas Police Officer killed in the line of duty. His presence can be felt throughout the school and his service to our community continues to be a sense of pride for school staff and students. Each year, we celebrate the life of Officer Elizondo with a day of festivities in partnership with local law enforcement and other state, county, and city municipalities. Elizondo Day, as it has come to be known by, is a chance to celebrate not only the life of Officer Elizondo but all of our heroes in blue. During Elizondo Day, hundreds of Police Officers from Metro, North Las Vegas, and CCSD spend the day touring the school, interacting with students, and working with members of the community.
With our trained staff members and high expectations, we are dedicated to provide every child with the best education opportunity possible and are working toward being rated again a four or five star school.
We realize the importance of developing in each child an attitude of self-respect and self-worth. We provide a variety of opportunities and learn established norms called the core values. They are Kindness, Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Perseverance, Courage, and Cooperation.
Parents are our partners in the most important job of educating the children of this community. We welcome your suggestions and solicit your membership in the Elizondo parent group and attend the Parent Chats.
